Ordered take out from this restaurant the other day and I was very impressed. The order was for guac and chips, fish tacos, short rib tacos and a steak quesadilla. The tacos were both combos and I replaced the rice and beans for Mexican corn.
The food was very fresh and it was delicious. Wasn't a fan of the corn tortillas that were used for the short rib tacos but it's only because I prefer flour tortillas. I took one star off because there were things about the meal that were lacking but that I think would have been better or fixed had we eaten in instead of ordering take out. Firstly, everything could have used lime and we were extremely disappointed that nothing came with it. Not the tacos and not even the corn. Secondly, the quesadilla quickly became soggy and the cheese hardened by the time we returned home (7 min drive). However the ingredients tasted fresh and I am certain it would have been amazing had we decided to eat in. The flavor on everything was great aside from the lack of lime, the fish was still crispy when we arrived home, and the order was ready prior than the indicated time which is always a plus.
Pricing for the lunch combos seems okay, but dinner prices seem a little on the higher side. Overall I would love to try this spot again but eat in instead to see how it compares. However with this order I was still very impressed by the food and would recommend trying it! I would just ask for extra lime next time I order :) -

I came here on a Friday night to chill and to enjoy good food. My first time here was on an afternoon and enjoyed their fish tacos so I was excited to be there on Friday. This time I ordered their braised pork fajitas and cheese fondue dip with toast along with their house margarita. I asked them to not put as much tequila in it because I don't normally drink that much anyways and they were able to accommodate for that. The braised pork for the fajitas was very flavorful and juicy. The portion was pretty big and had to take the rest home. The cheese fondue was a first for me and I really enjoyed it! Quite heavy for an appetizer so I am not sure if I will order it again, but still very good. The margarita was pretty sour, but I like sour so I enjoyed it a lot.
They also give you chips and salsa in the beginning, which I didn't quite enjoy....something about the salsa. Since it is on the house, it didn't really matter but I prefer the chips and salsa at El Potro a lot better. In addition, the music was WAY too loud to even have any type of conversation. I understand it was a Friday night, but it wasn't even that crowded to have the music be that loud. That was the least enjoyable part of the night. It was hard for me to enjoy my meal and chill with my bf and my friend here because of that. Most places have loud music and can still make conversation, but this was exceptionally loud.
Overall I don't think this will be my go-to if I crave for Mexican food unfortunately :/ Service was great though and our server was so nice. -

Changing my rating! WOW, I'm so disappointed in this place. I swear it had the best steak tacos.
Ordered a Steak and FIsh tacos and some street corn. The steak was cold and tasted old and microwaved.
The Corn tortilla was so bad I think it was made from chalk. I had to take them off and eat with a fork and knife.
The rice tasted worse than microwaved instant rice and the beans completely undercooked.
Can't believe this place went to shit. -

I went to their food pop-up in Seaport and was left unimpressed. I built a bowl with lettuce, carnitas, pico, cheese, guac, sour cream, and chipotle aioli. It came out to be around $9.
For starters, I paid for extra guac but got less than a tablespoon. Plus, there were beans in my food (when I didn't order them) and they completed smothered my plate in sour cream and aioli. The best part of the meal was probably the carnitas. They were nice and tender, but not the best I've had either.
Maybe their physical restaurant is better, but their pop-up needs to step up its game. -

WOW! What an awesome little neighborhood gem. Seriously, I couldn't have had a more perfect experience. Their extensive drink menu was awesome. I had a strawberry basil margarita that was so delish. Not too sweet, and PLENTY of tequila. The thing was also the size of my head, and only ten bucks! To start we had the queso which was served with garlic bread and chorizo. It was out of this world delicious. For dinner we shared the short rib tacos and the fish tacos. They were both loaded with delicious ingredients and were cooked perfectly. We were able to swap out our sides of rice and beans for plantains and street corn. Everything was so good. Also, the green salsa is SLAMMINNNN. Can't wait to come back and try more!
PS- Eli was an excellent server.
